WERNER Anne-Fleur

  • Young German soprano Anne-Fleur Werner will be heard during the 2020/21 season at Salzburg Landestheater in Alma Deutscher's Cinderella and in Gounod's Margarethe (Faust).

    in 2019 gave her highly acclaimed debuts in the part of Rezia in Weber’s Oberon in the part of Corinna in Donizetti’s Viva la Diva/Le convenienze e le invonvenienze teatrali in Salzburg.

    She belongs to the ensemble of Landestheater Salzburg, where she already performed Gabriele in Johann Strauss‘ Wiener Blut, Philip Glass‘ The Trial, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte, Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro, Antonia in Les Cotes d’Hoffmann, Cardillac’s Daughter in Hindemith’s Cardillac and recently Rezia in Weber’s Oberon.

    In summer 2017 she had participated in the prestigious Young Singers Project of Salzburg Festival.

    2016 she gave her role debut as Oscar in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera with the Ernst-Deutsch Theatre in Hamburg.

    Born in Pijnacher, Holland, she started to play the piano at the age of five and got her first voice lessons at the age of eleven with the renowned Wagnerian singer and teacher Christel Borchers.

    2005 she was awarded second prize at the competition Jugend musiziert.

    After finishing school she studied voice at the Mozarteum in Salzburg with Prof. Horiana Branisteanu and later Prof. Ingrid Kremling-Domanski and made her bachelor.

    She worked with, among others, Montserrat Caballé, Helen Donath, Rudolf Piernay and Gudrun Ayasse. During her concert work she received important advises from conductors such as Josef Wallnig, Kai Röhrig, Manfred Jung and Oliver von Dohnanyi.

    She finished her master in the song classes with Helmut Deutsch with distinction.

    Since May 2015 Anne-Fleur Werner received a scholarship by the foundation Junge Musiker Bayreuth.

    Already during her studies she performed very successfully Blonde in Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail, a production that was showed also outside university.

    Her repertoire ranges from the baroque to contemporary music. 2014 she sang Meleagro in Gluck’s rarely performed opera La Corona with the Mozart Opera Institute in Salzburg.

    Other highlights were performances of Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana und Leoncavalli’s I Pagliacci with New Zealand Opera Company.

    In September 2016 Anne-Fleur Werner was a finalist at the internationally renowned voice competition Competizione dell’Opera, of which the final round was held at the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre conducted by Fabio Mastrangelo. Subsequently she performed with the Bruckner Orchestra at the Brucknerhaus in Linz.
