Die italienische Sopranistin Federica Lombardi zählt weltweit zu den gefragtesten Künstlerinnen für die grossen Mozartpartien.
In der Spielzeit 24/25 gab sie ihr Hausdebüt an der Lyric Opera Chicago in der Rolle der Contessa Almaviva in Mozarts Le nozze di Figaro, an der Wiener Staatsoper gab sie ihr Rollendebüt in der Titelpartie von Bellinis Oper Norma. Als Contessa Almaviva bzw. Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte kehrte sie an die Metropolitan Opera New York zurück. Kürzlich debütierte sie mit grossem Erfolg als Elisabetta in Verdis Don Carlo an der Deutschen Oper Berlin.
Federica Lombardi erweitert ihr Repertoire laufend um Partien wie Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, Luisa Miller, Desdemona in Otello, Mimì in La Bohème sowie die Titelpartie in Donizettis Anna Bolena.
Federica Lombardi ist regelmässig zu Gast an den wichtigsten Opernhäusern der Welt, darunter das Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, die Staatsopern in München, Berlin und Wien, die Mailänder Scala und das Teatro dell’Opera in Rom. In den USA singt sie regelmässig an der Metropolitan Opera New York und der Lyric Opera Chicago.
Auch als Konzertsängerin ist Federica Lombardi sehr gefragt. Neben Mozarts Requiem in Rom, Beethovens 9. Sinfonie in Neapel und Venedig, führten sie Verdis Requiem nach Amsterdam, Zürich, ans Verdi Festival in Parma. Mit dem gleichen Werk steht eine Konzerttournee mit dem Orchestra Nazionale dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia unter Daniel Harding in Rom, Granada und Sevilla auf dem Programm. Ein weiteres Konzertgastspiel mit dem Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana unter der Leitung von Mark Elder führt sie mit Rossinis Stabat mater nach San Sebastian.
Für Sony Classical spielte sie im 2020 ihre erste Desdemona in Otello unter Antonio Pappano und neben Jonas Kaufmann ein. 2022 war sie die Mimì in der Verfilmung von Puccinis La Bohème, einer Produktion der Rai Cultura in Zusammenarbeit mit der Römischen Oper.
2019 wurde sie vom Verband der italienischen Musikkritiker mit dem Franco Abbiati-Preis als beste Sängerin für ihre herausragenden Interpretationen von Mozart-Partien auf den wichtigen Bühnen Italiens ausgezeichnet.

The Italian soprano Federica Lombardi is one of the world’s most sought-after artists for the major soprano roles in the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
In the 24/25 season she made her house debut at the Lyric Opera Chicago in the role of Contessa Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, at the Vienna State Opera she made her role debut in the title role of Bellini’s opera Norma. She returned to the Metropolitan Opera New York as Contessa Almaviva and Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte. She recently made her highly successful debut as Elisabetta in Verdi’s Don Carlo at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Federica Lombardi is constantly expanding her repertoire with roles such as Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, Luisa Miller, Desdemona in Otello, Mimì in La bohème and the title role in Donizetti’s Anna Bolena.

In 2020, she recorded her first Desdemona in Otello for Sony Classical under Antonio Pappano and next to Jonas Kaufmann. In 2022, she was Mimì in the film version of Puccini’s La bohème, a production by Rai Cultura in collaboration with the Opera in Rome.
In 2019, she was awarded the Franco Abbiati Prize by the Association of Italian Music Critics as the best singer for her outstanding interpretations of Mozart roles on Italy’s major stages.
